Representative for the Health Central Trustees
The Woman’s Club of Ocoee is pleased to announce our representative for the Health Central Trustees, Beverly Thornton. Beverly will be replacing Milton West who served as the representative for the Woman’s Club of Ocoee for many years.
Beverly was born and raised in Ocoee. She has been an employee
for 30 years with the Orange County Sherriff’s Department and
currently serves as an Executive Staff Assistant. She has one
daughter, Amanda Leigh Marion and one granddaughter Rylan Chloe
Marion. Beverly loves outdoor activities traveling.
Beverly has been a member of the Woman’s Club
of Ocoee since October 2008.

HONORARY MEMBER MARILYN RUHLE FOR 2010-2011

Honorary Members
Marilyn Ruhle has been selected as our GFWC Woman’s Club of Ocoee 2011 Honorary Member. Marilyn was invited to the Woman’s Club of Ocoee by past member, Winnifred Griffin, over 15 years ago. Marilyn served as 2nd Vice President and the Executive Board for several years. She was very dedicated to the clubs events, including the Corn Beef and Cabbage event with her late husband, Frank. She would help with the vegetables and could clean potatoes and carrots like you’ve never seen.
Marilyn was born in Indiana and moved to Chicago, IL. She was an RN in Obstetrics. Upon moving to Florida in 1958 she decided she wanted to be a stay at home mom or as we now say “domestic engineer”. Frank and Marilyn moved to Ocoee in 1983 where they built their home on Starke Lake. She was a baseball mom! She ran the concession stand at the Boys Club on Pine Hills. Marilyn stated, “I remember getting up early on Saturday morning and running down there to put the coffee on and hope the fuse didn’t blow”. She was a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scouts Den Mother. She was a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent at Faith Lutheran Church where she has been a member since 1964.
Join us in Honoring Marilyn today for her many years of service to the GFWC Woman’s Club of Ocoee and community. She joins the prestigious list of other Honorary Members:
