Woman's Club of Ocoee Hosts

First Annual Brunch Basket & Beauty Event

The Woman's Club of Ocoee hosted their First Annual Brunch, Basket & Beauty Event to raise monies for the elementary school's media centers in Ocoee.  This was the first year for this event and it was a huge success!  President, Teresa Lemons welcomed all of the Guests, as well as Special Guest Mayor Scott Vandergrift.  President Lemons, shared a little history of how the Woman's Club of Ocoee was founded by Journalist Jennie June in the 1800's.   Past Member, Betty Ervine was honored and the Ocoee High School Civitan Group were presented a check for $100 by President Lemons and she thanked them for their continued support of the Woman's Club of Ocoee's events.  Member Donna Kelly offered the Devotion and First Vice President, Mary Black led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Board Member and Creative Expressions Chair, Jackie Titus spoke on our "Creative Expressions" event and how today's fundraiser will increase our monetary donations to the Media Centers in the elementary school's in Ocoee.  The attendees enjoyed a champagne fountain and a wonderful brunch provided by ladies of the club Cathy Sills, Sherrall Applegate, Jackie Titus and Barbara Milazzo. Marge Johnstone of Jessie Taylor Catering also donated a wonderful french toast bake with cranberry sauce.  Pauline Mathius, Event Chair hosted a dessert auction.  Cakes donated by Marge Johnstone of Jessie Taylor catering went as high as $30 each!   There were vendors sharing their crafts and wares from:  Embroidery by Lyn; Vicki's Crafts; Willow House; Tupperware; Thirty-One; Premier Designs Jewelry; Rock Girls/Stampin Up; PartyLite; Celebrating Home; Kelly's Music & Needlework; and The Pampered Chef.  PartyLite representative Kristin Perpich offered 50% of sales to the club, as well as Tupperware representative, April Ruggieri offered 10% of sales for any parties booked in the month of October!  There were door prizes, 50/50 raffle and a basket auction.  Guest, Mary Barber was the winner of the 50/50 raffle. Members decorating tables were:  Teresa Lemons and Pauline Mathius; Ann Hopper and Sonia Brown; Joann Vann and Barbara Milazzo; Jackie Titus; Mary Jane Antonov and Karyn Kurtz; Kathy Cooke; Vicki Raduenz and Sherrall Applegate; and Diane Bonanno.  The "Spooky" table decorated by Joann Vann and Barbara Milazzo was voted the "Favorite Fall Decorated Table".   

The Woman's Club of Ocoee would like to thank Mayor Scott Vandergrift for his continued support of the Woman's Clubs events, as well as Dr. Rick Dayton, Grand Rapids Michigan and Westside Technical School for their basket donations.  President Lemons would like to thank the members of the Woman's Club of Ocoee; our Guests for this event and Pauline Mathius, Brunch, Baskets and Beauty Chair for their support of this project!
